JERUSALEM, April 12 (UPI) -- An Israeli military jet fired a missile and killed two Palestinian gunmen in Gaza who were on their way to plant bombs, a report said Wednesday.
After a gun battle on the ground, the Israeli jet fired at and killed the two men who were near a fence at the border of Gaza and Israel, the BBC reported.

Palestinian security officials told the British broadcaster the men were part of the militant al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades and were on their way to plant bombs.
Israel warned on Tuesday it would step up bombing of Gaza to prevent militants from firing rockets at Israel.
