Man causes six crashes while drunk

AMSTERDAM, Netherlands, March 7 (UPI) -- A man in Amsterdam was arrested for drunken driving after causing six accidents on the A12 roadway before being taken to a hospital.

Officials with the Netherlands national police said the 37-year-old driver sustained multiple injuries to his face, neck and leg. Expatica reports he hit a truck, which spun him into oncoming traffic.

Police said he then began driving against traffic, causing five more crashes that closed the highway to Utrecht for two and a half hours.

Another driver was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.

After he was received treatment at a hospital the drunken man was taken into custody for driving impaired and dangerously.
