Bank transport robbed in Kabul

KABUL, Afghanistan, Feb. 19 (UPI) -- A Pakistani bank transport car was hijacked along with $300,000 in the Afghanistan capital of Kabul and two bank officials were wounded.

Men in police uniforms stopped the car belonging to the Habib Bank of Pakistan as it drove to another bank, the BBC reports.

A guard and a cashier were injured when they refused to leave the car.

Khalid Abdul Aziz, manager of the Kabul branch of Habib Bank, called on tightened security from the Afghan government as well as repayment of the stolen money.

Aziz said security there is too lax.
