HOUSTON, Feb. 15 (UPI) -- Mikey the dog, a canine member of a federal team checking out the Houston site of this weekend's NBA All Star game, fell four stories and died Wednesday.
The 4-year-old Labrador retriever was sniffing out potentially dangerous materials at the George R. Brown Convention Center when he fell from ledge four stories to the street, officials with the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives said.

The dog was taken to a veterinary hospital but died early Wednesday, KHOU-TV in Houston reported.
