Police search for mother of abandoned baby

ATLANTA, Jan. 22 (UPI) -- Police are searching for the mother of a newborn baby found abandoned at a DeKalb County, Ga., apartment complex.

A resident of Oak Creek Apartments in Avondale Estates found the newborn Friday night, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

Police said the baby, taken to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston, appeared to be healthy.
