Menorah vandalized in Philadelphia park

PHILADELPHIA, Dec. 21 (UPI) -- Vandals ruined a Hanukkah menorah from a Philadelphia park, but residents said bigotry is not tolerable there and have replaced it.

Vern Anastasio, director of the Bella Vista United Civic Association, said the group decided to replace the menorah, which was ruined early Tuesday morning.

The group put it and a Christmas tree in the Cianfrani Park Dec. 12.

The tree was not touched, which Anastasio attributed to obvious anti-semitism.

"Today in Bella Vista, we are all Jewish," said Anastasio.

Police are investigating the vandalism.
