The great-great-grandmother lived through the reigns of five British monarchs, two World Wars and the turn of two centuries. She attributed her long life to her "customary sundowner of brandy and dry ginger ale."

Born in southern India on May 24, 1892, she lived most of her life in Ireland with her husband who was a cousin by marriage to the Queen Mother.
