WASHINGTON, Oct. 12 (UPI) -- President Bush gave a multi-pronged warning to Syria Wednesday, telling the country to be a "good neighbor" in the region.
Bush said Syria's actions could threaten progress made in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict by encouraging terrorism, CNN reports.

Bush also told Syria's President Bashar Al-Assad not to meddle with Lebanese politics. Syria withdrew troops from Lebanon after a 30-year presence.
U.S. military officials claim insurgents are making their way into Iraq via the Syrian border and Bush urged Al-Assad to control its border better and be a "good neighbor to Iraq."
