VIENTIANE, Laos, July 29 (UPI) -- Foreign leaders participating in an after dinner skit at the Association of South-East Asian Nations summit in Laos said the Russians stole the show.
Dressed as Darth Vader and holding a lighted sword, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, entertained the 10 delegations of the ASEAN group singing ASEAN-related lyrics to the tune of Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Jesus Christ Superstar," reported the BBC.
"ASEAN, Superstar ... Do you think you're what they say you are? ASEAN, ASEAN! Why we accept whatever you have done?" he chanted.
"We'd have managed better if we'd had it planned. Why'd we chose such a
remote ASEANis land?"
Australian Foreign Minister Alexander Downer sang "It's Now or Never," while U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Robert Zoellick, dressed as a cowboy, sang "Oh My Darling Clementine."
