Egypt,Yemen discuss security, terrorism

SANAA, Yemen, June 25 (UPI) -- Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh and Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak are discussing security cooperation and combating terrorism, reports said Saturday.

The official Yemeni daily al-Thawra said Saleh and Mubarak were meeting in Egypt's Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh to review the latest developments in the Middle East, especially in the Palestinian territories and Iraq.

"There will be a special focus on boosting Arab solidarity, security cooperation and combating terrorism," the paper said.

Egyptian Ambassador in Sanaa Mohammed Zayed said "the visit is of special importance and comes within the framework of the two Arab countries' keenness to keep up constant consultations over all issues of common and Arab concern."

He stressed that the two countries play a central role in ensuring regional stability and would work together for peace in the region and common Arab action.
