Mich. teen suing school for sexual assault

MELVINDALE, Mich., May 9 (UPI) -- A 16-year-old high school student in Melvindale, Mich., is suing his school district and six individuals for an alleged incident of hazing.

The unidentified student, a Yemeni immigrant, filed suit in federal court after telling police three of his football teammates held him down in the school locker room while another sexually assaulted him, the Detroit News reported.

Three students entered no contest pleas to charges filed by the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office in November and were placed on probation.

The alleged victim filed his civil rights case in U.S. District Court in Detroit last week, saying Melvindale High School officials failed to properly investigate the matter or discipline any coaches or students for the incident.
