Sizemore sentenced in domestic abuse case

LOS ANGELES, March 25 (UPI) -- A Los Angeles judge sentenced actor Tom Sizemore to 21 months in jail for violating his probation in a domestic abuse case.

Superior Judge Antonio Barreto Jr. gave the Hollywood tough guy 17 months in jail and four in a rehabilitation facility, E! Online reported Friday.

Prosecutors say Sizemore repeatedly violated the terms of his probation in a 2003 conviction for domestic violence as well as a 2002 misdemeanor battery conviction, flunked seven drug tests while staying at a rehab center in February and even tried to pass one of those drug tests by using urine from a prosthetic penis sewn into a pair of boxer briefs.

Barreto, however, allowed Sizemore to remain free while he appeals his domestic violence conviction.

Later Thursday, Sizemore went before another judge in a felony drug-possession case and was ordered to enroll in a drug rehabilitation program by April 14.

Having twice in one day avoided jail, a defiant Sizemore emerged from the courthouse flipping off reporters and ridiculing prosecutors.
