SoCal casino bus crash: 1 dead, 57 injured

ONTARIO, Calif., March 15 (UPI) -- A collision between a casino tour bus and a fire truck on a Southern California freeway Tuesday left a passenger dead and a firefighter seriously injured.

A total of 57 people were hurt when the bus struck the Upland Fire Department truck that was responding to another traffic mishap on Interstate 10 in the Ontario area.

The California Highway Patrol told KNBC-TV in Los Angeles the fire truck was making its way through traffic along the center divide when it was struck by the tour bus.

At least two firefighters were injured, one critically, as were several passengers on the bus that was en route from Koreatown in Los Angeles to a casino in the Coachella Valley.
