Israel allows men to leave Gaza

GAZA, Feb. 20 (UPI) -- Palestinian security sources said Sunday the Israeli authorities have allowed men younger than 35 years of age to travel outside the Gaza Strip.

A security source told United Press International on condition of anonymity that more than 100 Palestinian men below the age of 35 had traveled outside the Gaza Strip through the Rafah border with Egypt.

Nine months ago, Israeli authorities imposed a ban on such travel from Gaza through the Rafah crossing, the only open border after Israel shut down the northern Erez crossing, making exceptions for a few medical cases.
