DETROIT, Dec. 1 (UPI) -- A combination of blinding sun and icy roads caused a 50-car pileup on Interstate 75 outside of Detroit Wednesday.
At least two people were injured in the chain-reaction crash, police told WDIV-TV, Detroit.

One man suffered head injuries and a pregnant woman was injured, but there were no further details.
Traffic was backed up for about three miles and cars were re-routed off the freeway, WDIV said. A number of the cars involved in the wreck were described as "totaled."
Police said slow-moving traffic because of the conditions probably prevented more injuries.
