Colorado college student dead from fall

DENVER, Oct. 22 (UPI) -- A student at a Colorado Springs college has died from injuries suffered when she fell 40 feet from her dormitory window while watching a Frisbee game.

Amanda Morrison, a junior from Clifton Park, N.Y., died at a hospital about two hours after the fall Thursday night at Colorado College, the Denver Post reported Friday.

Witnesses said the window was open because it was a warm night and she was watching the game, said Lisa Ellis, director of external relations for the liberal arts college.

Morrison fell from the fourth floor of Bemis Hall, an all-women's dorm housing 75 first-year and upper classwomen.

Two other student deaths at colleges in Colorado in the past two months were related to drinking, but Ellis said there is no evidence of alcohol in this incident.

Police are investigating the death and an autopsy is being conducted.
