Shooting suspect says he hunts cops

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Aug. 20 (UPI) -- A Fort Lauderdale, Fla., man accused of killing a deputy sheriff and wounding another had listed "hunting cops" as one of his hobbies in a questionnaire.

Broward County Sheriff's Deputies Todd Fatta, 33, and Angelo Cedeno, 36, were serving a search warrant in a child pornography investigation when they were shot, the Palm Beach Post reported Friday.

Fatta was killed and Cedeno was wounded in the hand and shoulder Thursday. Cedeno is recovering.

Officers returned fire, but did not hit Wilk, who was arrested. Wilk was described as a gun enthusiast suspected of collecting child pornography.

America Online has identified Wilk as the man using the name Wolfpackeines. His AOL profile lists his hobbies as "horseback riding, acting, guns, shoot competitions, and hunting cops."

Fatta was shot though his protective vest and the sheriff's office said it was looking into the effectiveness of the product.

Sheriff Ken Jenne said Wilk used a high-caliber gun.

"We know that our vests cannot resist this type of weapon," Jenne said.
