Police investigators said they recovered a knife at the scene but had no idea what sparked the outburst or why the suspect set fire to his home earlier in the day.

A 1-year-old girl, stabbed in her mother's arms, was pronounced dead at an area hospital. Her mother and three others were treated and released.

Witnesses said the man had stabbed three people in the parking lot of the mall when he went into an Americash loan office where the child was attacked. There he was wrestled to the ground and held for police.
