"I was constantly abused when I was a kid, and have since distrusted men. I stabbed my son in a fit of madness," Tamura told investigators.

The 5-month-old boy suffered serious wounds when he was stabbed while sleeping, and is expected to take two months to heal under protection at a child welfare facility.

His elder brother was also placed in protective care, although the newspaper said there were no signs of physical abuse on him.
