Imposed prayer for Yassin in Rome

ROME, March 28 (UPI) -- Muslim radicals forced worshipers in Rome's Grand Mosque to pray for slain Hamas founder Sheikh Ahmed Yassin, the newspaper Corriere della Sera reported.

The mosque's imam, Abdulwahab Hussein Gomas, had expressly prohibited such a prayer, according to the paper. Still, the militants suddenly started praying for the soul of Yassin, who was killed by an Israeli rocket.

There were roughly 400 worshipers in the mosque at the time, of whom about 300 left. The rest participated in the forbidden prayer.
