Jordan sues over mold at Chicago home

CHICAGO, March 18 (UPI) -- Michael Jordan filed a suit Wednesday against the maker of a synthetic stucco he says trapped moisture and spread mold throughout his suburban Chicago home.

Jordan says he has spent more than $2.6 million to repair damage caused by rot, mold, water damage and other problems and had to temporarily move his family to another location during the repairs, the Chicago Tribune reports.

Jordan and his wife, Juanita, are suing Sto Corp. of Atlanta for consumer fraud. The company began work on the Jordans' home in 1992. They first discovered evidence of moisture damage in 1999, but a representative from the company told them the damage was minor.

The Jordans then hired their own expert, who determined the main structures of the home were "physically damaged, saturated with water, rotting and covered with mold growth," according to the allegations.
