LONDON, March 3 (UPI) -- A former British police office was sentenced in London Wednesday to 12 years in prison for raping, photographing and filming a teenager.
Ian Tolmaer, 38, who admitted to rape, was sentenced at the Royal Courts of Justice in London for attacking the 18-year-old victim after meeting her as she left a nightclub in Liverpool last April, the BBC reported.
Tolmaer, a police officer with the Merseyside Police Department at the time, said he took the victim, who witnesses described as "rotten drunk," back to his home and raped her.
"In my judgment, it is hard to conceive of a worse example of breach of public trust in a public servant," the judge said at the sentencing.
The judge also gave the former police officer concurrent sentences of six years for three offenses of indecent assault on the teen.
