NEW DELHI, Dec. 9 (UPI) -- A 2-year-old child died while his mother was gang-raped by five men en route to a hospital for medicine.
The victim told the police she was raped by five drunken men while on the way to a hospital and the delay led to her son's death.

Police Officer Mohammed Hasnain said five men abducted her at gunpoint at Sultanpur in India's eastern state of Bihar and then allegedly raped her.
"They let me off after two hours. When I reached home I found my son dead," the Press Trust of India reported, quoting from the victim's complaint.
Police say they have arrested at least one of the five alleged attackers.
Bihar is India's poorest, and most lawless, state.
