Greens: Defense bill a wildlife rollback

LOS ANGELES, May 20 (UPI) -- Environmentalists warned Tuesday the Bush administration was using a Defense Department bill as cover for a move to gut the Endangered Species Act. The National Environmental Trust said the bill grants blanket exemptions to all federal agencies that were sought by industry groups and "right-wing" Republican ideologues.
