Panel to probe capital's terror readiness

WASHINGTON, April 9 (UPI) -- A congressional panel is to hold hearings Thursday examining whether Washington is sufficiently prepared for emergencies such as terror attacks. "We need to protect the nation's capital, but at the same time, we do not want a closed city," the House Government Reform Committee said.
