Missouri: GOP's Talent widens Senate lead

ST. LOUIS, Nov. 5 (UPI) -- Republican challenger Jim Talent opened a 5-point lead over incumbent Sen. Jean Carnahan, D-Mo., late Tuesday in one of the most hotly contested senatorial races in the country. With 53 percent of precincts reporting, Talent led Carnahan 52 percent to 47 percent.
