Defense: Shoe bomber impaired by drugs

BOSTON, June 13 (UPI) -- Federal prosecutors prepared to call an expert medical witness to counter defense claims alleged shoe bomber Richard Reid was impaired by drugs when questioned by the FBI after his arrest in December on a Paris-to-Miami flight. The defense team wants incriminating statements Reid made to investigators thrown out.
