Defense filed on campaign finance reform

WASHINGTON, April 3 (UPI) -- Six sponsors of a campaign finance reform act recently signed into law filed papers Wednesday in federal court to intervene in two lawsuits brought by opponents who consider the law unconstitutional. Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., and the National Rifle Association have brought suits claiming the law violates free speech protections.
