Blagojevich takes lead in governor primary

CHICAGO, March 19 (UPI) -- As vote counting drew to a close, Rep. Rod Blagojevich, D-Ill., held a narrow lead for the Democratic nomination for governor in Tuesday's Illinois primary. With 89 percent of the vote counted, Blagojevich led former Chicago schools chief Paul Vallas, 36 percent to 34 percent.
