Morales leads tight Senate race

DALLAS, March 12 (UPI) -- School teacher Victor Morales took an early lead Tuesday in the race for the Democratic Senate nomination in Texas, a contest that's expected to result in a runoff. Morales had 38 percent, Congressman Ken Bentsen 29 percent, and former Dallas Mayor Ron Kirk 25 percent, with less than 2 percent of the vote counted.
