Bush: 21st century will be Pacific century

TOKYO, Feb. 18 (UPI) -- President George W. Bush told the Japanese Diet Tuesday that America, "like Japan," is a Pacific nation and he is convinced the 21st Century will be the "Pacific century." Speaking before the Japanese legislature, Bush appeared to shift the U.S. strategic view from Europe and the Atlantic community to Asia.
