This week, Intel revealed its connected wheelchair. The wheel chair comes back and approved by one of the most renown scientists of our time: Dr. Stephen Hawking.

The connected wheel chair project was created by a group of developers and engineers out of Intel's Internet of Things department. The group created a sensor built on the Galileo board, and is "designed to take biometric information from the user and display it on touch screens.", according to The Verge.

What isn't this wheelchair capable of? The device is capable of measuring body temperature, blood pressure, and heart rate. "It also allows people to quickly judge the wheelchair accessibility of places they visit.", notes The Verge. Hawking has worked with engineers for about a decades time, saying the connected chair was an ideal example of how the technology for the disabled is "often a proving ground for the technology of the future."
