Utah Jazz sign Joe Johnson for $22 million

SALT LAKE CITY, July 2 (UPI) -- Monopoly money continues to drown NBA free agents.

On Saturday morning, the Utah Jazz agreed to pay unrestricted free agent Joe Johnson $22 million over two years, according to David Aldridge.

Johnson, 35, averaged 13.4 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 3.6 assists last season for the Miami Heat, after coming over from Brooklyn. He also shot 51.8 percent in the 24 contests he played for Miami.

He is a career 33 percent shooter from distance and has averaged 16.9 points per game in his 15 NBA seasons.
