NBA: Los Angeles Clippers 98, Portland 97

LOS ANGELES, March 31 (UPI) -- Chris Paul scored on a driving layup with 5 seconds to play Friday, giving the Los Angeles Clippers a 98-97 decision over Portland.

The Clippers outscored Portland 7-2 over the final 75 seconds to win their fourth in a row.

Caron Butler started the late Los Angeles rush with a layup and Randy Foye then hit a 3-pointer that put the Clippers in front 96-95 with 51 seconds left.

Portland regained the lead with its final points of the game, coming on a Jamal Crawford jumper with 16 seconds to go. Paul then hit the game-winning basket and Portland's Wesley Matthews missed a layup attempt with 3 seconds left.

Paul, Foye and Blake Griffin all scored 20 points for the Clippers, who shot 52 percent from the field.

J.J. Hickson led Portland with 29 points and 13 rebounds.
