LOS ANGELES, March 29 (UPI) -- Blake Griffin had his second-largest production of the month Wednesday and helped the Los Angeles Clippers pull away late for a 103-86 win over Phoenix.
Griffin scored 27 points and grabbed 14 rebounds in the Clippers' third straight win. They have climbed back within two games of the Los Angeles Lakers for first place in the Pacific Division.
Griffin came within a point of his highest total of the month, which he produced March 7 against New Jersey.
Phoenix still had a chance with 6:56 remaining when the Suns trailed by eight but the Clippers then went on a 15-5 run to put the game away.
Chris Paul added 15 points for Los Angeles and Caron Butler had 14.
Phoenix lost its second straight and fell a game below the .500 mark. The Suns are two games out of a playoff position. Denver and Utah, who are tied for the seventh and eighth spots in the Western Conference post-season chase, both lost earlier in the evening.
The Suns were led by 23 points from Marcin Gortat.
