MLB: Colorado 6, Pittsburgh 4

PITTSBURGH, April 9 (UPI) -- Ty Wigginton hit a tie-breaking, three-run double in the eighth inning Saturday, providing the winning margin in Colorado's 6-4 decision over Pittsburgh.

The Rockies also got a solo homer from Seth Smith and Carlos Gonzalez went 3-for-4 with an RBI and run scored.

Greg Reynolds, starting in place of injured Rockies ace Ubaldo Jimenez, went six innings, allowing two runs on three hits before yielding to Matt Belisle (1-0), who was credited with the win after notching two outs in the seventh.

The Pirates' Jose Veras (0-1) was tagged with the loss for allowing Wigginton's decisive double.

Pittsburgh was led at the plate by Ryan Doumit, who socked a two-run homer.
