CHICAGO, Dec. 22 (UPI) -- Dany Heatley scored early in the first period Tuesday and the San Jose Sharks, behind the goaltending of Evgeni Nabokov, stayed ahead and edged Chicago 3-2.
Nabokov finished with 45 saves.

Joe Thornton and Jason Demers also scored for the Sharks, who have won three games in a row and lead the Western Conference by two points over the second-place Blackhawks.
Marian Hossa and Patrick Kane produced goals for Chicago, which had won its previous four contests.
Blackhawks goalie Cristobal Huel was credited with just 11 saves.
