SAN JOSE, Calif., Oct. 29 (UPI) -- Dany Heatley and Ryane Clowe scored during a six-round shootout Wednesday, bringing the San Jose Sharks a 2-1 victory over Los Angeles.

San Jose moved into a tie with the Kings for the top spot in the Pacific Division.

Jonathan Quick of the Kings and Evgeni Nabokov of the Sharks both gave up a goal in the second period and were otherwise perfect until the shootout.

Michal Handzus scored for Los Angeles to open the shootout and Heatley kept the Sharks alive with a goal in the third round. After two misses for each side, Clowe produced the game-winner.

The Sharks captured their third straight win and ended a four-game Los Angeles winning streak. It was the first overtime loss of the year for the Kings.

Alexander Frolov put Los Angeles in front with a wraparound shot 8 minutes into the second period and Patrick Marleau tied it with 5:18 to go in the stanza. It was the 10th goal of the season for Marleau.

Quick made 29 saves and Nabokov had 28.
