PHILADELPHIA, Oct. 15 (UPI) -- Lorena Ochoa parlayed her seventh tournament win into locking up LPGA player of the year honors and strengthening her hold on the women’s rankings top spot.

Ochoa was also received the Sportswoman of the Year award by the Women's Sports Foundation. This year she has won seven tournaments, including Sunday’s Samsung World Championship in California, and more than $3 million.

Ochoa’s increased her lead from 9.07 points to 9.58 points over Karrie Webb in the women’s world golf rating released Monday.

Annika Sorenstam was third followed by Suzann Pettersen and Cristie Keer in the top five. Se-ri Pak remained in sixth place with Paula Creamer in seventh, with Juli Inkster, Ji-yai Shin and Morgan Pressel, in order, completing the Top 10.
