SAN JOSE, Calif., Dec. 8 (UPI) -- Brett Clark and Joe Sakic each finished with two goals and an assist Thursday night as the Colorado Avalanche beat San Jose, 5-2.
Brett McLean also scored for Colorado, and Wojtek Wolski had two assists for the Avalanche, who stopped a two-game losing streak. Jose Theodore made 28 saves.
Joe Thornton had a goal and an assist and Jonathan Cheechoo scored for the Sharks, who lost their second straight game following a five-game winning streak. Vesa Toskala allowed five goals on 25 shot for San Jose.
The game was tied, 2-2, late in the second period when Colorado scored two quick goals.
McLean scored with 5:48 left in the period, and Clark scored his second goal with less than a minute remaining in the second.
Sakic finished up the scoring with his second goal of the night at 7:45 of the third.
