Chad Campbell leads at Augusta

AUGUSTA, Ga., April 7 (UPI) -- Chad Campbell, a three-time winner on the PGA Tour, is the leader after two rounds of the 2006 Masters Golf Tournament at Augusta, Ga.

Campbell shot a 5-under-par 67 Friday, and is 6-under 138 at the halfway mark -- good for a 3-stroke lead over Vijay Singh, Rocco Mediate (68) and Fred Couples (70).

"Obviously you want to play well in the majors," Campbell said. "I think that's what I've been working toward."

Singh, the first-round leader after a 5-under 67, ballooned to a 2-over 74 Friday and is at 3-under 141 with Mediate and Couples. Phil Mickelson, a 13-shot winner at the BellSouth Classic last weekend, is tied for fifth at 2-under 142.

Defending champion Tiger Woods (71) is 1-under 143.

Among those missing the cut were Colin Montgomerie, Mark O'Meara and Tom Watson.
