MLB: LA Angels 4, N.Y. Yankees 1

NEW YORK, July 29 (UPI) -- Garret Anderson and Bengie Molina homered Friday night as the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim topped the New York Yankees, 4-1.

Anderson, Molina and Vladimir Guerrero each had two hits for the Angels, who have won six of eight against the Yankees this season.

Winner Ervin Santana improved to 6-4. He yielded one run and six hits over 6 1/3 innings with two walks and five strikeouts as the Angels snapped a four-game skid.

Francisco Rodriguez picked up his 25th save and Santana has won three straight starts and four of his last five overall.

Over eight innings, loser Mike Mussina (10-6) gave up three runs and eight hits with no walks and five strikeouts.

Tino Martinez homered and Derek Jeter added two hits for New York, which fell 2 1/2 games behind American League East-leading Boston.
