MLB: L.A. Angels 2, Minnesota 1

ANAHEIM, Calif., July 6 (UPI) -- Bengie Molina's tie-breaking home run in the fifth inning gave the L.A. Angels a 2-1 victory over Minnesota at Anaheim's Angel Stadium.

Ervin Santana (3-3) threw five strong innings for the Angels, while Scott Baker (0-1) made his major league start for the Twins with five innings of two-run ball.

Chone Figgins collected two of the six hits for the Angels, while pitcher Vladimir Guerrero finished 0-for-4, but drove in a run on a ground out.

Joe Mauer knocked in the lone run for Minnesota and Shannon Stewart contributed three hits for the Twins.

Kevin Gregg and Scot Shields combined to throw three innings of relief for the Angels before Francisco Rodriguez recorded his 16th save of the season by striking out three batters in the ninth.
