COURTNEY LOVE

A trial date of June 11 has been set for Courtney Love's battle with Universal Music Group (UMG) over contractual issues.

Allstar.com reports that on Monday, a U.S. Court of Appeals judge denied an appeal by UMG to stop the proceedings. The ruling gives the green light for the fight to move forward in the courts.

Love is challenging a California state labor code that exempts entertainers from its "Seven-Year Statute."

MADONNA AND CHILD

It was a rare sight: Madonna and young daughter Lourdes appearing in public.

The singer reportedly took her daughter on a rare public outing to see the opening of an exhibition by internationally known fashion photographer Mario Testino. Lourdes, who is now 5 years old, is in some of the photos on display at a London gallery. The event was attended by a raft of stars and fashion models.

Testino was the late Princess Diana's favorite fashion photographer. There are several shots of Lady Di -- taken shortly before her death in 1997 -- displayed with the fashion photos at the showing.
