NEW YORK, Nov. 4 (UPI) -- Broadway actress Marissa Jaret Winokur has joined the cast of the sitcom "Retired at 35," TV Land announced.

The show's cast includes George Segal, Jessica Walter and Johnathan McClain.

Production on Season 2 began Thursday. The season is to premiere in the spring and will consist of 10 new episodes.

Winokur will play Amy, "the clever, but romantically challenged daughter of Alan [played by Segal] and Elaine [played by Walter] and sister of David [played by McClain,]" a synopsis said.

"We are thrilled to have the immensely talented Marissa Jaret Winokur join this amazing cast for our second season," Keith Cox, TV Land's executive vice president of development and original programming, said in a statement. "As the characters continue to evolve and we welcome another family member into the mix, I am sure our viewers will find themselves laughing as the season unfolds."

The show is about a couple who get an unexpected surprise when their overworked, 35-year-old son decides to quit his job and move in with them in their active-adult community.

Winokur is best known for her performances in the Broadway musical "Hairspray" and TV's "Dancing with the Stars."
