Pine and Gyllenhaal in talks for 'Into the Woods' film

LOS ANGELES, May 15 (UPI) -- Chris Pine and Jake Gyllenhaal are in talks for roles in a Hollywood film adaptation of the stage musical "Into the Woods," Deadline.com reported.

Johnny Depp and Meryl Streep are already on-board to star in the big-screen version of Stephen Sondheim's fairy tale-themed musical.

"Chicago" filmmaker Rob Marshall is directing the film.

Pine will be seen this week in "Star Trek Into the Darkness." Gyllenhaal's film credits include "The Good Girl," "Brokeback Mountain," "Jarhead," "Brothers" and "End of Watch."
