More than 160 2013 Oscar nominees gather for lunch at Beverly Hilton

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., Feb. 5 (UPI) -- Seventeen of this year's 20 Oscar-nominated actors and actresses attended a luncheon at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif.

Among the 160-plus nominees who attended Monday's event were Jessica Chastain, Jennifer Lawrence, Quvenzhane Wallis, Naomi Watts, Bradley Cooper, Daniel Day-Lewis, Hugh Jackman, Joaquin Phoenix and Denzel Washington.

Robert De Niro, Tommy Lee Jones, Christoph Waltz, Amy Adams, Sally Field, Anne Hathaway, Helen Hunt and Jacki Weaver also attended the Oscar nominees' luncheon.

Missing from the event were acting nominees Alan Arkin, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Emmanuelle Riva.

Oscars for outstanding film achievements of 2012 will be presented Feb. 24 at the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center in Los Angeles.

Seth MacFarlane is to serve as host of the ceremony.
