Original 'SNL' Cast Member, George Coe, dies at age 86

SANTA MONICA, Calif., July 20 (UPI) -- George Coe died on Saturday at the age of 86, after battling a long illness.

Variety first reported the Oscar-winning actor's death, who was in the buisness for over 50 years.

Coe was part of the original cast of Saturday Night Live along with Chevy Chase, John Belushi, Dan Aykroyd and Gilda Radner. Although he did not return for the second season of the comedy sketch show, he continued on to other memorable roles in 1979's Kramer Vs. Kramer, 1987's Max Headroom, 1987's Blind Date and a couple of appearances on Curb Your Enthusiasm.

He also was known for his voice over work in Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Transformers: Dark of the Moon. Most recently, Coe lent his voice for passed six years on Archer as Woodhouse.

His co-star, Aisha Tyler, tweeted about the actor's death, writing, "One of the loveliest & most talented men I have ever known."
