Taylor Swift, Calvin Harris do lunch with Ed Sheeran

NEW YORK, May 29 (UPI) -- Taylor Swift and boyfriend Calvin Harris had a very special third wheel on their date Thursday.

The 25-year-old American pop star and 31-year-old Scottish DJ were joined by Swift's best friend, English singer Ed Sheeran, for lunch.

The couple were photographed hand-in-hand as they walked with Sheeran to The Spotted Pig in the West Village. A source told Us Weekly the trio "were all laughing and having a great time."

Sheeran was in the city to attend the unveiling of his wax statue at Madame Tussauds. The singer was impressed by the lookalike creation, and commented on how the sculptors included his bulge and lazy eye.

Swift and Harris were first linked after they were spotted grocery shopping together in March. The couple were seen holding hands a week later at a Haim concert, and now regularly go on dates together in public.

Swift and Sheeran have been close friends since 2012, and performed together on the pop star's Red tour in 2013. Swift embroidered a Drake-inspired needlepoint for Sheeran last year, and recently shared a goofy text message conversation with the singer on Instagram.
