BUJU BANTON: A federal jury in Florida has convicted Jamaican reggae singer Buju Banton on drug and weapons charges, officials said.

The Hollywood Reporter said Banton was found guilty Tuesday of conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute cocaine, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking offense and using a telephone to facilitate a drug trafficking offense.

The charges stemmed from Banton's 2009 arrest for his alleged role in a meeting between Tampa drug dealers and a paid Drug Enforcement Agency informant, the entertainment industry trade newspaper said.

Banton's "Before the Dawn" won the Grammy for Best Reggae Album earlier this month.


RIHANNA: A Los Angeles judge lifted a restraining order singer Rihanna requested against boyfriend Chris Brown after he assaulted her in 2009.

TMZ said Brown, 21, was in court Tuesday when the judge downgraded the order, allowing Brown to have contact with Rihanna, 23, as long as he does not harass, annoy or molest her.

Rihanna's attorney told the judge the singer has no objection to the new order. She was not in court Tuesday, TMZ said.

Brown pleaded guilty to assaulting Rihanna in February 2009.

In addition to having to abide by the restraining order for about two years, Brown was ordered to go for counseling and to do community service work.


ALYSSA MILANO: Alyssa Milano's publicist has confirmed to People.com the U.S. television actress is pregnant with her first child.

Milano, 38, married talent agent Dave Bugliari, 32, in 2009 after dating for about three years.

"They're just over the moon," a friend told People.com Tuesday. "They are so excited."

Milano, who is due to deliver their baby in the early fall, is best known for her work on TV's "Who's the Boss?" and "Charmed."


JUSTIN BIEBER: Canadian pop star Justin Bieber confirmed via Twitter he has cut his signature hairdo for a music video he is making with Rascal Flatts.

"Yeah so it's true…i got a lil haircut…i like it," the 16-year-old star tweeted Monday.

"We are giving all the hair cut to CHARITY to auction," Bieber added. "Details coming soon."

People.com said Rascal Flatts bass player Jay DeMarcus posted a photo of Bieber's shorter haircut on his Twitter account.
